Another year has come and gone!

I can't believe it is 2010 already! Here is a quick overview of the last year in my life...
In January 2010, Jen and I ran the Rock-n-Roll Phoenix Marathon
(yep, 26.2 miles).
It was awesome, other than the fact that I had huge blisters by mile 10!
I stopped and popped them several times along our route, they were so painful (see below for pic). I ended up having to walk the last mile or so (my legs felt awesome, but my feet were NOT our ending time was around 5hrs 10min).


My first official house fire as an Engineer came this year also, it just happened to be my Bishop's home....just a couple houses down from mine! Matt was on scene and took many pics! (Kind of interesting, my first house fire as a firefighter was in our ward also....maybe it is time to stop promoting!).


Lake Powell is one of my favorite places on earth! We were lucky enough to make it there twice this year~both trips were excellent to say the least.

Tuesday

Tyler started a fever yesterday afternoon and has had a horrible booger nose, I was hoping he'd be better by today ~ not my luck, he woke up pretty warm again and still really congested, sounds like it may have gone down a bit into his lungs. I ran to the gym this morning so that I could at least get a workout in before being stuck home with a sick little baby. It was a good workout, it always is.....20min, AMRAP (as many rounds as possible) 3 deadlifts #95, 9 pullups, 12 double unders (jump rope, one jump, two rope swings underneath) I ended up doing 11 rounds w/1 minute to spare (I should have kept going, but just wasn't feeling it ~ my body is still beat from Saturday). I weighed in yesterday and have lost 8lbs on their scale since October. I had lost 6 lbs body fat (no muscle loss) the month of December and I go in again today. Only a few more lbs until I am at my goal!!! We are going to Hawaii the end of February and hope to be at my goal weight by then. I started the Zone Diet yesterday (hardcore) also, writing down everything I eat. I feel really good on the Zone and should do pretty good on it. I think I will finally get my Christmas stuff down this week, I already did the front room! (I left it up a little longer because my mom came into town late to celebrate Christmas). Yesterdays workout included 225 squats! Ouch, my quads are killing me.
Dinner is in the crockpot! Yeah....Chicken, black and kidney beans, corn and salsa ~ should be awesome on tortillas.

The beginning.


I've decided to make a blog in place of a journal for me! My life isn't real exciting (thank goodness), but I do stay very busy. So, today is day 1 and my goal is at least once a week!

I am a mom of 4 awesome boys! They are my pride and joy, I love them so much. My husband, Matt, is the greatest husband ever. He supports me and everything that I do, I love him.

Lately, I have been going to a Crossfit gym, Viking Crossfit. I absolutely love it! A lot of my blogging may be about my workouts and how I feel during and after them, I am trying to get a workout history to try and compare my fitness levels as I continue with Crossfit.

Saturday, I competed in the Utah Crossfit Winter Challenge! I was way out of my element as I have only been doing Crossfit for a couple of months and most of the women there were elite crossfitters. With that being said, I know I did my best and was able to complete the workouts! I did more reps than I had ever done and pushed myself harder than I'd ever pushed (at one point, I lost peripheral vision and my lips were tingling and blue...due to lack of O2...kind of scary actually, I just kept telling myself not to pass out). I'll blog about the specific workouts later!
